Khéma La Poste is now open, ready to serve Phnom Penh! Doors swing wide at 6am, closing at 11pm. Our Wat Phnom restaurant serves healthy, delicious meals and light bites along with Khéma’s famed bread, cheeses, charcuterie and cakes. Ok, these last ones aren’t so “healthy”, unless you consider their boost to your mental health.

Khema La Poste - Cheese and Charcuterie

Set in a beautiful renovated building near the Cambodia Post building in Phnom Penh, we kept its old-world sophistication. Now buffed with a contemporary polish, its perfect for meeting friends or associates. Our European café-style retreat is also great for relaxing with a book over a glass of HobNob wine.

The History of Khéma La Poste

The building was once the back of the Messageries Fluviales de Cochinchine. In 1881, Jules Rueff founded the company after financing for a railway line between Saigon and Phnom Penh fell through.

Their boats started out connecting Saigon with Phnom Penh and Battambang. Then, after some very dangerous explorations up the Mekong, expanded to Stung Treng to link with Khong in Vietnam. In the end, it carried goods, mail and property along 3,000 kms of riverways across the region. After a messy start, it became the most powerful company in Indochina.

At that time, the building was flanked by The Grand Hotel and the Customs Building. The former is now unrecognisable behind its new facade and the later demolished. Along the road leading from Sisowath Quay towards the Post Office, the windows looked out on to Rue Jules Ferry (Street 13 — Ang Eng), and Rue Jeanneau (Street 98 — Santhor Mok).

We worked hard to honour the building’s history while modernising it for our fast-moving, sophisticated world. Khéma La Poste now boasts open space and high ceilings. Its exposed brick, iron work and refined details create a space that is smart, smooth and easy to be in. All the while complemented by a sophisticated menu designed to still be accessible. We cater to a wide range of tastes.

Different Location, Same Tasty Food

Khéma’s menu features an international range of dishes, including a delicious Greek lamb moussaka. It layers baked aubergine with minced lamb, cinnamon and béchamel sauce — It’s one of our real favourites. We also have a hearty range of salads for the health conscious who don’t want to compromise on flavour. And there are plenty of classics too, such as Toulouse sausage, lobster bisque, fish tartare, beef carpaccio, pastas and so much more.

We’ve made sure that all this comes at outstanding value for money without losing any of the quality that Khéma’s known for.

Contact Khéma La Poste on +855 015 841 888 if you’d like to find out more or make a reservation. And follow our Facebook page to hear about the latest deals and events.

We’re also available for private parties catered by our fantastic team.
