On hearing the name, you’d be forgiven for assuming that we brought in our exclusive range of HobNob wines from Australia, or perhaps California thanks to the funky name and labelling. But the truth is much closer to our hearts. HobNob wines hail from the Pays d’Oc in the South of France, where they drink up all the sunshine and turn it into a range of hearty wines that can be enjoyed on their own or in company with a good meal. Indeed, the name itself means to drink together.

HobNob’s flavours are unreserved; they’re definitely not the shy ones at the party. From their range of reds, we serve the Shiraz, which comes with prominent berry, chocolate and pepper flavours that are strong enough to go alongside a pizza, heavy meat sauces and even a Swiss Cheese Burger.

The Merlot will appeal to those who like their wines even fruitier with a light spicy finish and is recommended for roasts, and chocolate (though, to be honest, after many years of diligent searching and testing we have yet to find anything that doesn’t go with chocolate). The Cabernet Sauvignon is a softer affair with black cherry flavours and a smooth finish, a good match for grills and roasts. Last but not least for the reds, the HobNob Wicked Red brings together flavours of roasted coffee, chocolate, toasted hazelnut, and orange zest for a great match for grilled meats and mature cheeses.

HobNob only does one white, a Chardonnay with plenty of character, and full flavours of vanilla, almond and honey, for a crisp, clean Chardonnay that goes great with fish, white meats and creamy sauce dishes.
